Job Description

Job Title: Surgical Technologist Location: Mattoon, IL Shift: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (10-hour days) with 5-6 call shifts per month (40-hour guarantee)

Description: Join our team as a Surgical Technologist in Mattoon, IL, where you will play a vital role in assisting in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients. As a Surgical Technologist, you will perform scrub duties, provide assistance in emergency procedures, as well as elective and scheduled cases. You will also assist in the preparation, transportation, and supervision of patients while maintaining education in surgical operating room procedures and related aspects of patient care.

Submission Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in surgical technology.
• Completion of 2 or more travel assignments.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Proficiency in Orthopedic procedures, including total joints, hip fractures, arthroscopy, ORIF's, and shoulder scopes and replacements.
• Proficiency in Vascular and Neurological procedures.

Responsibilities: Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.

• Assist surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
• Maintain a sterile field during surgery to prevent infections.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and other team members during procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
• Assist with patient transport to and from the operating room.
• Clean and restock operating rooms after procedures.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures regarding patient care and safety.
